its one of those holidays that i really want to enjoy in theory; i like the aesthetics, the vibe, etc. but in practice its always just been a stressful and consumerist shitshow full of unnecessary socially enforced obligations..

seriously wonderful if you actually celebrate it properly - 23 days of somber reflection and a pinch of melancholy during advent and 12 days of hedonism and relaxation in preparation for the bullshit of the coming winter.

lots of fun but as a kid i didnt like the stress it created between my divorced parents. but as a grown up its been fun
