they scared me quite badly as a kid, and even as an adult, i'm perturbed when they're too tall. i also don't like yelling at kids for walking backwards on them, but it's part of my job

useful but when i was 5 i got my shoelace stuck in one and that wasn’t fun

Can be scary if too long or too slow but otherwise helpful
