Very stereotypical motif and can certainly lead to a limited stylistic cinception of eastern music. Can be quite funny though depending of the context, and it also gives a lot of room for motivic development. Since its based on pentatonics, you can transpose it freely throughout the scale without radically changing the harmonic content, and you can also create variations in rhythm, duration, atticulation, etc while maintaining the basic essence of the motif.

Racist for sure, but objectively funny that it originated in a play called "The Chinese Spectacle of Aladdin"

obviously racist but if someone throws this out there during a jam session its hysterical

I think it's an interesting leitmotif when Asian musicians (like Cyndi Wang) reclaim it in their music, but otherwise extremely and deeply racist.
