ANTHROCON 2026 WAS SO FUN ity was myt first anthrocon , not my first convention though if it wqas my firsdst convention i think i would have dies on the spot there are so many people. basically the convention takes place in this huge convention center, but then everyone spills out into the entirety of downtown pittsburgh and its QAWESOME all the local businesses cater tro it becasue of how profitable the convention is. so profitable it literally makes up 20% of the city's entire revenue each eyar and i am not joking. the city of pittsburgh designated antrocon day and the mayor went and took press photos. the city loves furries. there are so many people at anthrocon its legit overwhelming. maybe not on the caliber of something like comiccon, but imagine thousands and thousands of fursuiters all packed into one huge building. thats anthrocon. its so big that in full honesty you dont really have the chance to meet new people like you do at other furry conventions. everyone is so stuck in their own bubble because of the sheer amount of people. dont get me wrong the coalesence of literally EVERYONE you know at these conventionns is phenoimenal but i really do like the act of meeting new ppl at these and anthrocon is just not ripe for that. the vibes were immaculate, the con has been taking place during 4th of july weekend the last couple years and this year coincided with the independence day 250th anniversary so it was so dope. of course, do take care walkingn around the city especially at night it does get pretty rough out there. one of my friends got mugged and another friend of mine came across a guy that was highkey about to murder somebody before they called police. lol AWESOME CONVENTION PLS GO ONE DAY IF UR A FURRY its like furry mecca

like a true californian i will defend in n out with my life FUCK yall who think it sucks. i dont get tired of it i ate in n out today, i ate in n out like 4 times in a single weekend a couple months ago and it was wonderful. okay i dont try to eat it that often but that one time i was a t a furry convention and there was an in n out literally one block away form the convention center and everyone piled onto it so i ended up eating there every day of the conventoin but i would lowkey do it again because in n out is just that good.

as a furry im happy it exists and to be a part of it but like all fandoms its very messy. u always have people in the fandom detracting from the experience from time to time, and being an online fandom u run into a lot of people that have situational unawareness and lack of social skills. much of this can be attributed to the fandom's appeal to very online people, members of the lgbtq+ community, and especially neurodivergent people as a safe space which is great but it also leads to a lot of insular attitudes that make the fandom less appealing to outsiders. the fact that this fandom is also becoming a political topic is very unfortunate. nontheless if you scour around and be your truest self you will meet great people. but do take caution

more people need to hop on banh xeo as a vietnamese dish i love this stuff. its a rice pancake typically stuffed with beansprouts shrimp and pork and is paired with nuoc mam (fish sauce, basically) and it tastes wonderful. its crispy and savoury with just the right amount of saltiness from the nuoc mam. one of my favorite comfort foods genuinely and its a taste of home. whats not to love

out of all the vietnamese dishes that have breached into pop food culture this is definitely the best one my mom makes such good pho i love it i love her i love my mom thank you pho for existing i need to learn how to make you one day... you have to like,,, simmer beef bones in broth for a day and stuff and theres more to the process but i dont know it off the top of my head but its so tasty
