It's something to do. Often I find myself lacking the motivation to do anything, including low-effort things I know I enjoy, like watching TV or playing games. Sometimes I will just stare at the wall, literally. But twitter is always there. It is always something to do. Perhaps it is just a bit of a depressing feedback loop and not something "real" to do. And perhaps I would be less depressed if I didn't use it at all. But it is something I suppose, probably even something better than some of the things I've previously filled my time with. I spend about 2 hours average a day on Twitter according to my phone.
