I've been a depressive since I was a kid. At this point I don't think of it as a distinct thing from my own sense of self. I am a depressed person. But at a certain point as an adult or after doing other things for a while, it fades into the background. A sort of noise in the anterior of your skull. Sometimes you have a funk, your habits break down, and you drink a lot despite saying you won't do that anymore. But life goes on. As with everything else, I'm grateful for every hardship in my life, all the damage to my soul for it has hardened my heart and made me a stronger man.
Saved me from being someone else twice. Almost killed me once. If you cut me down often enough, you will always find it somewhere among the pieces. It's home in a way.

Absolutely awful completely ruined my life but it also made me a much interesting and much more introspective person I have a love-hate (mostly hate) relationship with my mind
Worst thing ever. You can’t even try to make your suffering into art because being depressed doesn’t allow you to do ANYTHING!! Unless ur franz kafka I guess
why should i begrudge it, since during the hours when my soul crushed the depths of my heart, it was seated there beside me?
