often reductive but still a useful enough heuristic

nznznz11/3/2026

not very fulfilling on its own. If there were 3, or 4 of them it would be more enjoyable. 5 would be incredible but you can’t ask for everything.

Meta, huh?

bananaphone11/5/2026

I think there are some cases where the 1-100 scale can be used but otherwise this is a clean, concise way to rate imo

natasharostova11/5/2026

if youre on this website you should be giving stars 5 stars

diz11/5/2026

much better than rating out of 10 or 100 but still imperfect as it can’t be standardized in any meaningful way

pretty_c0ntagi0n11/5/2026

well it's star

laurmau11/5/2026

not the greatest but i do prefer it to just straight numbers most of the time #sorrystars

I have been hooked on pushing these buttons before Letterboxd was even a thing :(

Harley11/3/2026

Its been said before but it does just feel very reductive. Moreso when theres only 5, I think 10 is the perfect amount

highly flawed but admittedly easy to use and understand. surely theres a better alternative?
