cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-05★★★★★Hello my best friend. The most beautiful, delicious, reliable root vegetable. Where would I be without you.
- Honeycrisp
2cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-05★★★★★The perfect apple. Especially in peak season, when they reach near-human-head size.
- Chana masala
3cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-05★★★★★Easily one of my all-time favorite foods. It's hard to find other dishes that are this cheap and are always this delicious.
- Avocado toast
4cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-06★★★★★I don't like that this has the "trendy millennial food" badge, when it's just a genuinely delicious and versatile food. I like to elevate it by topping it with harissa roasted cherry tomatoes and arugula.
- Blueberry
5 - Hummus
6cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-05★★★★★One of the best spreads there is. There's a Lebanese bakery in my mom's hometown that makes the best hummus I've ever tasted. I have a hunch that they use triple the amount of lemon juice needed. It has this whipped texture that I've never experienced with any other hummus. It's fun to look for and try new flavor variants. I like carrot cumin, za'atar, harissa & roasted pine nut.
- Pesto

cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-05★★★★★Truly wonderful. I've recently gone vegan and I've found that vegan pestos taste even fresher and somehow have an even more aggressively green hue. I adore Trader Joe's kale cashew pesto.
- Buddha bowl
8cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★★I make these all the time, but less in a thoughtfully-curated-vegan-blogger way. I like having a nice, big assortment of nutritious leftovers. I tend to have tofu, avocado, roasted sweet potatoes, quinoa, pickled carrots, cucumber & edamame, and top it all with sesame seeds and whatever tasty sauce I have on hand (tahini, gochujang or ginger miso paste, usually).
- Tofu

- Blackberry
10 - Gold kiwifruit
11cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-05★★★★★Surpasses the standard green kiwi in nearly every way.
- Beans on toast
12cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-06★★★★★Controversial, but this is one of my comfort dishes. My partner is English and grew up eating this, and I was incredibly hesitant to give it a try. I’m so glad I did. It’s delicious and the ideal hungover breakfast.
- Gari (ginger)
13 - Hazelnut
14cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-06★★★★★Do not under any circumstances leave a bag of dry-roasted unsalted Oregon hazelnuts around me. I will eat damn near the entire bag and wreak havoc on my stomach. One of the best nuts.
- Peanut butter sandwich
15 - Granola
16cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-05★★★★Very nice breakfast, especially with lots of fruit. Tastier, less sophisticated muesli.
- Pluot
17cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-05★★★★I have always felt a deep connection to plums and their family tree. These have a truly mysterious quality to them. Rose apriplums are pretty, but I prefer the deep, plummier wine red-flesh variety.
- Brown rice
18 - Sprouted bread
19 - Tempeh
20 - Persimmon
21 - Speculoos
22 - Pickled carrot
23cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★The Massachusetts pickling company Real Pickles makes the best I've ever had, it's just carrots, ginger, sea salt and water, it's perfect. 4/5 because when I eat them, I feel self conscious the rest of the day that I have fermented/pickled breath, and because one jar can knock you back about $13...
- Quince cheese
24cacophonous's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★This is quince jelly. I don't accept the scornful title "quince cheese". It's disrespectful to this already obscure little darling. A quince jelly cheese toastie was one of my partner's staple childhood foods. Last year, they made one for us to share, as I was so curious to finally give it a try (both with and without cheese). It's very understated, like if marmalade was made out of tart, floral pears. I wish it was more widely available in the US, I'd love to have it more.
- Soy yogurt
