When I was in fifth grade (fall 2004) I was asked to nominate someone for president, and my parents forced me to choose super-conspiratorial far-right then-senate nominee Alan Keyes. This would be normally very embarrassing, but I decided to have him run against “Puff Daddy” (who I guessed I assumed looked like the bad guy in Ghostbusters 2 just because of his name). So I guess I was ahead of my time.
