One of the better emojis, and one of the more popular. It has a great design, being cartoony enough while still recognizable as feces. The iconic smile makes it a charming character with a nice built in juxtaposition between its expression and form. Certainly was brought to new heights when portrayed by the late Sir Patrick Stewart, a memorable role that brought a lot of buzz to the project. This emoji has many uses, most of them borrowed from the many ways we use words ‘shit’ and synonyms in language. I will say, on the negative side, that when used strictly to replace the word ‘shit’ it can come across a bit obnoxious for my taste. “That movie was 💩!” It just reads a bit cringe to me. I far prefer it just as a tool for emphasis. Overall a solid emoji that maybe suffers from overexposure if anything.
