kittyangeli had a sociology class with this girl a few years ago, and she was an immigrant from india. she taught me that owls are a symbol of foolishness over there, but they're seen as a symbol of intelligence here in the west. i thought that was really interesting, how different yet similar our cultural symbolism is. assuming she wasn't fucking with me, of course. i treasure that interaction either way.
