Breakfast at Tiffany's (film)

a simple story about a complicated girl. compared to others in audrey's filmography, i know that this particular film is particularly polarizing. the racism and erasure of queerness derserves it's space in the conversation, and yet, holly golightly is like holding up a mirror to my soul. the cab scene monologue is so powerful. holly may have set cat free in the cold alley, but being loved by her trumps freedom any day. freedom isn't running because all she ended up doing was running straight into herself. "i'm not holly, i'm not lula mae either, i don't know who i am!" oh holly, nobody understands you like i do
