The need to portray our fears and our disgusts as anthropomorphic beasts or dehumanized husks is a basic element of fiction. We may only slay our "demons" by manifesting them. But was Dracula not based on a man? Is it fair to literally demonize someone with solely human drives and impulses simply because we do not like them? The creation of monsters may be an exorcism of our own negative traits, but that does not absolve us of our own villainy. For that reason, I give them 3 stars. One star is removed for the final review because monsters are too scary.
