FDR let this guy create The Modern Science Grant System from scratch during WW2 and we still have it. He was a Mensch and "Yay for Science! ❤️" (That said... his failure to envision healthy formal procedures for ensuring FAR FUTURE Science Czars is probably why Science is not fully healthy now.)

This was the 1st time I NOTICED a timeline branch that I ended up on the sad side of. I don't think SCOTUS caused the sadness. I think they recognized sad things that became Officially Sad due to SCOTUS recognition. Recognizing sad truths *IS* technically a virtue, and an important one.

Killed millions and millions of people. (Maybe billions. If you think Utopian Medicine could have been possible by the 2020s, then this is the single biggest candidate for why it never arrived.)
