Fluorado you ever think about how the moon is just about the right size and distance from earth to be the same angular size as the sun when seen from here, and thus make total solar eclipses both possible and as spectacular as they are? the anthropic principle explains why things sometimes appear to be fine-tuned in our favor, but does that even apply here? is it really just pure dumb luck that the moon and the sun appear the same size from earth, or is there some secret reason why that was a requirement for life to develop? it keeps me up at night. keep being weird, moon. we'll figure you out someday.
