AngryDino42SO GOOD. AND VERY RELEVANT. I own the physical copy of this book, despite originally reading it online. That’s how much I enjoyed it. Deducted a star only because it’s something I can’t get other people to read, which is entirely based on my own experience with the media and not the overall quality. My biggest warning to anyone who is thinking about reading this is that The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect contains every trigger and content warning you could imagine. This isn’t an exaggeration. People torture themselves and others and simulated versions of children. Theres incest at the end. If AM from IHNMAIMS was on one end of a spectrum, Prime Intellect would be on the other. AM actively tortures humans with the intention to do so and keeps them alive for his own pleasure, Prime Intellect accidentally tortures humans through keeping them alive forever because he believes it to be necessary. My introduction to it was adverse due to the inclusion of the Three Laws of Robotics, a very flawed system, but I was extremely happy to find this novel addresses that flawed system and how fucked up humans can be to get around it. Annoyed that PI was Intellect 41 and not Intellect 42 though. You could’ve done something with that.
