solar system
A list by heav · 16 items
the main planets plus whatever i feel like.
- Sun
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★i mean, it's better than being a rogue planet?
- Mercury (planet)
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★mildly interesting in that it's pretty close to the sun, otherwise mediocre. honestly this deserves to be a moon of something or another.
- Venus
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★very bright, excellent inner planet. much cooler than mercury. my main complaint is maybe that the visible surface is rather featureless.
- Earth
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★★really cool planet. lots of interesting surface features and the weather's neat.
- Moon
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★★the brightness is irritating sometimes but it's a lot cooler than if we didn't have one. i think we deserve more.
- Mars
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★it has some things going on but it's a bit small. "overhyped" in my opinion.
- Moons of Mars
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★nice job finding some rocks on the beach, mars.
- Ceres (dwarf planet)
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★iconic, overlooked, deserves to be with the other ones honestly. also a very nontrivial fraction of the mass of the entire asteroid belt.
- Asteroid belt
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★it's whatever. at least ceres is there.
- Jupiter
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★★very cool planet. extremely massive, exciting visible storms, very aesthetic, interesting moon system, both very bright and outside of our orbit. i think we should have 10 more of them.
- Galilean moons
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★★the resonance is really neat and io is very fast. you can see these even just with binoculars.
- Saturn
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★★would otherwise be a worse jupiter but the ring system is very iconic.
- Uranus
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★ice giant. it's okay. it's a bit dim.
- Neptune
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★much dimmer than uranus and kind of redundant but it still has its interesting notes, what with triton and its kuiper belt interactions.
- Pluto
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★i like the tidal locking with charon. interesting looking surface and also a kuiper belt icon.
- Oort cloud
heav's latest · 2026-11-07★★★★terrifying.
