you did a lot of stuff id argue you shouldnt have in regards to psychological experimentation before clearer ethics guidelines were commonplace, and whats even more frustrating is that this puts you in the very average company of your contemporaries, when you otherwise often showed both capacity and follow-through in working above and beyond their failings of compassion. your appeals to patient dignity and a collaborative relationship at the heart of healing, at a time when the psych profession was new and mostly toddling in the clothes of existing institutions of authority it could most easily borrow from, makes you more special than i would like you to be. i am still grateful for the ways you were special, and will be always
