Last night I had a dream that I was some sort of old-timey surveryor or government assessor or something. I was dressed in a suit, with a bowler hat, pocket watch, waxed mustache... the whole nine yards. My team and I were sent to pressure an old lady into selling her land. She lived on a tiny, windblown rock off the coast all alone. She was my estranged mother. My team and I sat awkwardly around the dinner table with her, trying to make smalltalk. She didn't have any salt. She lives next to the sea. We avoided talking about the reason we'd come. There would be time the next day. There wasn't time the next day. She'd died in her sleep. We built her a crypt on the rocks where the waves where crashing. I sent two of my men to lower her in and watch over her as the tide came in. The wind was howling and the sky was barely light. I sat watching through the kitchen window as the waves took her, the men hunched by a rock, sheltering from the wind. The I woke up as my cat jumped on me. Maybe one day I'll make a movie

They're neat to look at sometimes

Very tasty, but too expensive to buy most of the time, and the stinky pee is a bit weird

Not great, but a good scratch is hard to beat, so it gets a few points there
