All the stations on the M4 line are fairly deep since it goes under the Danube, but not so deep that it wasn't expedient to excavating the entire space rather than constructing a vault from the tunnel. That means they had the unique opportunity to construct a series of extremely dramatic underground spaces. Kálvin ter is the tallest, widest, and most theatrical to descend into by escalator or elevator of these stations. That standard is echoed at the neighboring Fővám and Rákóczi ter stations, though to a lesser extent.
