11/4/2026 · 1 commentyou'll think you can't go on without them until you move into a new house and don't really have any for a month. you can make do. but you don't want to because of all dishware, they have the most surface area for cute and beautiful designs, second only to mugs.
11/4/2026sometimes necessitates caution
11/4/2026had one today for the first time since i was a child. my dad used to make them with the orange juice sauce (mojo criollo or something). i could hardly reduce my orange juice sauce down, so as well as putting it in the sandwich, i dipped the sandwich into it. the sour / citrus dimension of sandwiches is really overlooked and god willing it will become more of a topic in the sandwich world soon. where the sandwich loses points for me is, i personally find ham and cheeses easily become one-note, and i never like to peer into my sandwich and not detect the colour green. (i did however shove a bunch of fresh parsley leaves into mine and it was good.) it also sorely misses a crunch - i especially like the crunch of a sandwich to come from an ingredient within, rather than from the bread.
11/4/2026their greatest merit to me is that it renders Lasik (review to come) unnecessary. it grants you the freedom to walk in two worlds, to be bespectacled or unbespectacled, as you please. can be quite expensive over time. mildly irritating, and the consequences for neglecting their daily care are extremely frightening. but the alternative is being shackled to glasses, or not being able to use your eyes.
