Fat fetishism
Fat fetishism

proponent and fan but i remain undecided on my opinion of it in a feminist sense. been writing and then deleting text here for almost half an hour. current verdict: treat strangers with respect, fat bodies are politicized, you can develop a fetish for nearly anything deemed deviant, what is deviant in a society changes: would acceptance of fat bodies eliminate the concept of fat fetishism? is a fat body only sexy when and if it is fetishized? of course not. the concept of fat fetishism appeals to me as i can't gain and keep weight well and i have a complicated relationship with food as an autistic person. thus the concept of 'excess' is sexy. i've looked down and confirmed that my boner is still there

no body is inherently sexy, even conventionally attractive ones. conventionally attractive ones are just the ones the most people are naturally attracted to. changing definitions and making people ashamed to express preferences will almost never change what people actually feel, in either direction. it's all sparkling conversion therapy. the simplest way to eliminate the moral hazards inherent to "fetishism" would be to solve morphological freedom so *everyone* with a sexuality isn't constantly at risk of inadvertently entrapping the object of their desire into feeling like their value comes from a body they secretly disprefer but believe is unchangeable. and i do mean *every single person* with a sexuality is vulnerable to this form of moral injury. every single person who was attracted to pre-transition elliot page in a gynephilic way fell victim to the same phenomenon. it is not an exclusive guilt of fat "fetishists" or eroatypicals of any kind.

fwiw, I was neither raised to see fatness as taboo, nor had any trouble gaining weight, nor *enjoyed* gaining weight or being fat [in fact I struggle with weight loss], and I have a fat fetish anyway, so I don't think it's caused by taboos or romanticizing the "exotic"

*well, maybe people who are attracted only to fantastical body types are not vulnerable to that form of moral injury.

really awesome reply that made me defensively flinch many times in ways i will be reflecting on which i hope doesn't sound sarcastic. i do a surprising amount of "intellectualizing" about this subject that maybe avoids getting to the heart of only being able to get boners from furaffinity fat sort by newest, having an ex-body builder gym rat mom, and getting treated for bulimia in childhood (which i didn't have). cool stuff
