Gorgeous. The yellow-tipped black beak is stunning, and the bright red mouth corner and eyering are shocking. Slight-looking body and neck. Rather distinctive and beautiful black plumage. This gull is distantly related to all other gulls, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were considered their own "thing" within my lifetime. Mysterious. Disturbing. Cute. Evokes a feeling of "novelty."
11/5/2026A cute, medium-sized, and rather pale gull. "Bubblegum pink" legs, as they are described by birders, are cute and a rather uncommon color. The immature plumage of individuals belonging to the Kumliens subspecies is nearly all-white and makes the young ones look special, like angels. The adult is not so distinct, but it's nice.
11/5/2026Known to me as "mew gull," cute, but I don't know it well, and I am not wowed by it. Well it's fine. It's little. I prefer ring-billed gull but I recognize that it is because of familiarity bias. I could see someone enjoying this one.
11/5/2026I'm for it!
11/4/2026Out of control. Just exhilarating to look at.
11/4/2026Not my favorite. A little boring (if a shark could be boring...), but overall cute and brownish. Among their cousins, little stands out to me about them, but perhaps a professional could convince me of their merit.
11/4/2026One of my favorite fish families! From the Wikipedia article, I found out today that they can be called "sugar toads," which is a hugely adorable name.
11/4/2026All star bird. Beautiful, freaky, odd, cute as hell. Makes one of the cutest noises among birds. Impressive wingspan and its skimming behavior is a beauty to behold. Handsome black and white plumage. One as myself cannot produce the appropriate words to assess the beak.
11/4/2026A visitor to my region whose permanent population is increasing. A good looking gull with bright yellow legs. Pretty similar to AHGU, but I'm not complaining. In my experience, often the first to fly away among the larger gulls. Lacking some interest, and not particularly iconic, but a solid showing.
11/4/2026Banger after banger.
11/4/2026Love it!
11/4/2026A classic, and to me, the archetypal gull. Average, but by no means boring. Surprising red and black on its long orange bill. Iconic noise and coloration. A steadfast and reliable presence on the shore.
11/4/2026A frankly villainous figure in United States history. Spearheaded a political crusade against "vice" that resulted in the destruction of literal tons of literature and the suicides of multiple women deemed by him to peddle degenerate materials. Hated, even in his time, for his restrictive activities and had the tar beat out of him a couple times. Violent and regressive.
11/4/2026A deeply special looking gull with a shocking red bill and beautiful airbrushed gray-and-black body. Flashy and gorgeous. This species is vulnerable and declining in the face of habitat loss. Extra cute points awarded due to a major breeding colony being located on the roof of a (now destroyed) McDonald's restaurant. Good luck.
11/4/2026Noisy and adorable. Beautiful with a black head, and cute when in its smudgy winter plumage. Gorgeous with its red beak in summer. Increasing in recent years in my region, I am partial to this species, but the novelty may wear off.
11/4/2026Absolutely cute, soft-looking gull. Charming with its bright yellow beak and feet; a bird whose bill is, indeed, ringed: a strong charm point. Compared to other gulls that frequent my region, polite while foraging.
11/4/2026The largest gull in the world. A big-bodied gull with a formidable, deep beak. Handsome adults have a striking red ring around their eyes. A self assured and sometimes aggressive gull. They seem to have an ability to eat anything smaller than them that moves or smells. Great, not my favorite. In the summer, full-grown babies follow adults around, crying and mewling, begging for food. So cute so cute so cute so cute so cute so cute so cute
11/4/2026I love it. Even having seen it thousands of times.
11/4/2026Good. Captivating. Got pulled over listening to this in my car, because I was driving too fast.
11/4/2026I enjoy it, but I don't find it addicting. Though, I think if I had heard "the Robots" as a child, it probably would have had a big impact on me.
11/4/2026An eye-catching, color-changing Pacific puffer named after an eclectic bird. Young ones are yellow, and mature individuals develop white spots on a now black-ish body. An article purports the existence of a rare scrawled line phenotype. I Have met and appreciated this little beast underwater. Cute while browsing. Among puffers, not my favorite.
11/4/2026Fantastic bird. Beautiful, artistic, cryptic things that tromp upon our forest floors. Enchanting eye placement gives this bird a huge range of vision. I am partial to shorebirds, and this one lives in a novel habitat. Surprisingly, it makes it way to midtown Manhattan every year, where individual birds have become local celebrities. Sadly, I have yet to meet one in person.
11/4/2026Not a personal favorite, but certainly an all-timer. A handsome, dimorphic beast that makes itself common in its range. Cute noises, cute beak, rather bold. It even goes through a period where it looks quite hideous(cute) and is the subject of many unflattering photographs(positive rep for a bird). Happy to feed from a bird feeder, perch in low shrubs and trees to make sure that you don't miss him. Lacks some "It" factor, but it's a great bird.
11/4/2026Great. Like a mouse. Would only wish to see it more often.
11/4/2026 · 1 commentThe frontman of one of my favorite bands. Possesses a great rock and blues voice. Fantastic singer and poetic lyricist. I enjoy his unique voice. Frequently scrapes out generous shavings of passion, self-loathing, deep feelings, etc.. It makes me think about poetry about relationships, like, "Is it really possible that someone feels the way that he described...?" It's all very colorful, both positive and negative. Well, it's just the first time I thought something like that. He hasn't reached his full potential yet, I hope. Anyway, I see him often in my dreams, probably because his solo albums have his face real big on them. He occupies a similar phenotype niche to my boyfriend, who I like quite a lot, so it makes sense to me.
11/4/2026One of my favorite albums of all time. Cold and warm. Channeling, sometimes, someone who has lost everything. And so tender. Dark and painful and loving when it can be. Country/Folk. Try it!
