invaluable object, cannot live without. one time as small children me and my three little sisters were sleeping on the pullout couch in the living room (it was unusually cold for Alabama that night) with a big old space heater with the super hot exposed element, and my youngest sister's giant teddy bear rolled off the bed and landed against the space heater and caught on fire. for some reason everyone blamed her for almost burning the house down, but she couldn't have been more than 4 at the time. why did we do that? why did we blame her?

i wish I didn't need them. both of my grandpa's were pilots, you know? when I was a child I thought that was so cool, and I thought maybe one day when I was grown I'd be a pilot too. but then I had to get glasses when I was 11, and it crushed a dream I didn't even know I was holding onto. i do really enjoy being able to see, though. when I first got glasses I said "whoa, you can see the leaves on the trees!!!", and I went on to study forestry. so I suppose an old dream died and a new love was born that day. it sucks to pay to see. it sucks to have this device that clamps my head and gives me pressure headaches. definitely a love/hate relationship.

i am looking forward to my cup of coffee as we speak. i lie in bed just a little while longer- it is warm and cozy here, and I know the air in the room is colder than I'd like. one of my cats has already left for his morning exercises, but the other one stays to cuddle until I get up. none of us like the cold. we all look forward to our morning treats.
