post-rock (mainly in its first wave) and the lesser known oft terminologically misunderstood style ambient pop have been the most latent and potent forms of indie music in my life, parallel to my thinking and feeling, being apparent in my childhood and only really enrapturing me as i fittingly entered my 20s. i thought Tortoise's "Djed" was just so cool when i was 10 years old, and still do but now it's because it is so apparent to me how it is so architectonic and exact in it defining post-rock, all the particularities that fall under it; a now ill-misconstrued trend basically taken as music for stoners going sober.

i had an odd, voyeuristic, ideologically-abandoned shift in my everyday thinking one week in 2021 where i suddenly, for the first time, was excited to declare a personal apologetics for capitalism. i am still figuring out if it's more than just perversion. years of long-distance approval of activism and aid were retained but became resigned with my recognition that i was not in the exact picture the way i thought i was by way of social media. a year or so of a strong inquisitive interest in whatever could be whittled down to accelerationism had vastly panned out to: i do not think it should accelerate any further than, and this is where the strange part began, how it is already normally accelerating which i'm then interested in. so here is the Megalopolis of my compend activity. my incredibly personal particularity in rating the umbrella of capital-acquisitive economies is, with this already being gotten across, not an expression in a vacuum—i would totally not fight if it went away, but i am not fighting like i am convinced it is going to go away exactly right now the real portent of it was when i'd read about the lesser known French theorist of the counter-Marxist 1970s, Gilles Lipovetsky, and his essay "Power of Repetition" where he acclaims Lyotard's Libidinal Economy and Baudrillard's Mirror of Production, developing off of them; "it is not a question of starting over again with the problematic of alienation [...] [but of] accelerating the production of those singular combinations and reactions that alone can extinguish the intolerable as quickly as possible." i then read about what he is up to now, and in a 2013 interview he said in a completely ironed out and polished manner that "i believe that capitalism is still a legitimate model [...] capitalism continues to be the only legitimate economic model, but legitimate does not mean that it is perfect". these are not the same ideologically, but i made them out to be the same personally in my imagination i believe what i said above applies here as well, that if at a colossal breaking point in history i was especially convincingly pressured to drop this entire farce tip to toe and commit to soberly acting effectively however capable i'd be in the socialist->communist transitional process, i should drop it. for now, in spite . . . what other economy has produced this much wealth for no good reason in so few hands by such . . . means. 2 & 1/2 stars, and in my top 5

no, *you're* going by too fast or too slow

very glad the dedicated humming account agrees that it's *almost* perfect—for instance, as a oral habit, when done in the wrong part of your mouth with the wrong mouthfeel, you have a kazoo, not a tone, and it creates an uncomfortable tickle. or, winged animals can flap against your ear, and the brief friction where the humming sharply changes is deeply uncomfortable. it's very nice regardless.

the database's conflation of musical acts with identical names, a problem that could have been evaded over fifteen years ago with some PHP, is an easy -2.5 upon my rating. i regret not having set more song obsessions and instead having relied on running back certain songs a good ten or so times to make a point in my yearly scrobbles. no need to continue to use premium when i can just feverishly check for smart apostrophes to change them to standard apostrophes in songs' metadata. i get a thrill the most out of editing tag wikias, a great substitute to the stifling hell of Sonemic's genre profile submission queue—nothing beats adding a eloquent in-depth description to a tag like "this is fucking nuts" or tags of similar ilk.
