They beat each other up when trying to defend bird feeders that they like, their metabolism burns through energy so quickly that they need to enter a state of torpor to even be able to *survive* overnight, and they make daredevil dives that can reach velocities of about 27.3m/s -- about 385 of their own body length per second -- as *courtship displays*. AND they're small, round, fluffy and cute! These birds are so cool.
