Compelling to me as presented in Pali texts as a sort of cascade of increasingly happy or peaceful states. I've maybe hit first jhana a handful of times, so I don't really know what I'm talking about. Most times I'm meditating I'm dealing with what's talked about as roadblocks to jhana, like sensual desire, anger, and restlessness. Definitely easier to get there in a retreat context

I prefer tea but I like that coffee is cheap and standardizable. I don't have it every day. It does in a pinch though! Impresses me that this is a lot of people's principle source of antioxidants. Very cool that it makes you poop

Lately I'm really into Chinese herbals like huai hua mi (Sophora japonica). My preferred serving medium is gongfu style. I don't have a lot of gear and I don't do it formally, but when I have time it's fun to use the gaiwan and small serving cups.

I love how many other colors you can fit inside it!
