11/4/2026No matter the terrain, walking and taking in your surroundings is always a joyful experience. Hiking just codifies that into a capital-S Sport, where you experience nature along a preset, typically maintained trail. My last hike followed the course of a river, and I couldn't imagine making it through the mess of nettles and other undergrowth without some kind worker trailblazing the way with a weedwhacker prior. When the foliage isn't as nasty, you do begin to wonder where all the other paths would lead, but as it stands, hiking is still nice.
11/4/2026Made a website very similar to this, as well as a bunch of other cool stuff.
11/4/2026Yeowch!!!!
11/4/2026Owwwww!!!
11/4/2026Nomenclaturally speaking, this is the closest something can get to being a Game without being a Game. It is a form of play contingent on a very particular movement system, and yet it is fractured across different games, stuck as a mere Game Mode. Hopefully Momentum Mod can fix that. As for the game itself, it is perhaps the closest 3D analogue to Geometry Dash one can find, in the sense of navigating a custom-built space along a preset path, unable to stop and smell the roses. This core idea of everything being ephemeral gives the level designer ample room to make every detail count, knowing where the player will be looking at all times. Also like Geometry Dash is the nature of surfing as a very physical activity, where improvement in the long term comes not from learning new strategies, but rather pure mind-melding with the game, letting Source's physics be an extension of yourself. In any given map, you'll be scouting out the route, figuring out the route that conserves the momentum needed to make it across large gaps, and later, when going for new records, discovering the little tricks and shortcuts to shave off hundredths of a seconds --- but that's only one half of the gameplay. Even if you know what do it, actually executing on that plan is where the true test of skill lies. Eventually, every minute loss in speed from a suboptimal board or flick will feel like slamming against a wall in real life. Truly visceral. I love this game(mode).
11/4/2026A great song marred by the existence of chuds.
11/4/2026Fun to do, miserable to watch. It's a real shame that society has oriented itself around watching sports rather than playing them.
11/4/2026Would be cooler if they violated copyright law.
11/4/2026Fuuuuck what do you mean my tastes are influenced by external factors and not just immutable facts from my Subjectivity Gland
11/4/2026In hindsight, having your every musical motion panopticonized for the world to see is not actually that great. Also, the database is an absolute mess.
11/4/2026The punchline in this one hits you like a ton of bricks. Perhaps a better statement on the death of the author than Barthes' The Death of the Author.
11/4/2026The greatest short story ever written.
11/4/2026The only human field of study that is 100% objective. If there is any other objective system of thought out there, then it can be reduced to mathematics.
11/4/2026They were onto something with this one.
11/4/2026The only thing Google Maps has over even the default Leaflet view of OSM are businesses and bus schedules. That's it! In every other regard, OpenStreetMap is way more detailed and generally nicer to look at (with the default view). Of course, it can vary by region, but if your area is lacking, why not help out everyone and contribute? It's easy and free!
11/4/2026The flowing water adds a crucial element of unpredictability that only tidal bodies of water share.
11/4/2026Don't get me wrong: Wikipedia is incredibly useful as a source of information and undoubtedly the last bastion of the free Internet. It's just that: - its principle of neutrality is a farce; - getting anything done on a higher level is a bureaucratic mess (a problem which extends to its sister projects); - because of the widely adopted stance of inclusionism, many articles contain utter nonsense that no one is willing to axe in fear of coming off as a deletionist; - many users don't understand that citations don't immediately mean the information presented is accurate or even backed up by the sources cited. For more information by someone who's a lot more critical about Wikipedia than I am, check out this blog post: https://miidashgeget.wordpress.com/2022/04/26/wikipedia-sucks/
11/4/2026I can always count on this website to help me out whenever I get a dumb idea for a sequence of numbers and want to know its true nature.
11/4/2026A complete nothing-burger of a vegetable. Actual dead air.
11/3/2026Tied with Commons as the greatest Wikimedia project. Yes, even Wikipedia is no match. Besides being the most detailed and comprehensive online dictionary out there, it also hosts a whole swathe of words in other languages, which is invaluable to language learners. Do make this your dictionary of choice for English, and if you're bilingual, consider contributing! It's not that difficult once you get the hang of it.
11/3/2026Now, I obviously haven't tried every brassica out there, not least in all the dishes that can be made of them, but I *have* consumed cabbage in various forms throughout my life, and let me tell you: this shit sucks. It's mediocre when raw, awful when cooked, and downright disgusting when fermented. Even with my decently wide palate, sauerkraut is one thing I refuse to eat.
11/3/2026 · 1 commentEven with the recent cross-breeding to improve their flavor, they still retain a few bitter notes. Still, they don't affect the flavor all too negatively, and it can be fun to chew through the layers; my main issue is how big and clunky they are for something that ostensibly serves as a side. They're like small rocks on your plate.
11/3/2026Sorta like broccoli, but a tad worse in every aspect. Which, of course, means it's still quite good.
11/3/2026The greatest brassica, and perhaps a top contender for the greatest vegetable of all time. Really, does anything compare to the humble broccoli's mix of toothsome flesh and unorthodox-feeling buds? It also tastes great.
11/3/2026I have been stung once by a bee, and never by a wasp. Draw your own conclusions.
11/3/2026Pretty great at times, though some people take it far too seriously.
11/3/2026By far the greatest season, even if it occasionally falls off a bit by the end. Spring is very similar in climate, but it lacks the most critical part: pretty leaves.
11/3/2026You know it's a good taxon when ants are the *least* interesting part of it.
11/3/2026It's frankly ludicrous just how great these things are. What do you mean a bicycle in good order has 99% energy efficiency??? AND they're fun to ride AND they're good for the environment!!!
11/3/2026The absolute GOAT. I could down an unhealthy amount of these bad boys; in fact, I probably have on several occasions. The peel adds a crucial element of anticipation, a lovely facet that also makes other hard-to-access foods like peanuts and pistachios a joy to consume. And your reward for making it past the peel? A texture so fine and delectable that eating it in any other form (e.g. a smoothie) is a bit like taking the cream out of an Oreo. Just perfect design all around.
11/3/2026What a nice thing the universe has given us. The quintessential weird and unpredictable integer sequence.
11/3/2026It has *no* aftertaste! What the hell, man! Sorry, it just feels so wrong to feel the fizzy lemon-lime in my mouth during a swig, and just have it all be gone by the time I swallow. For what it's worth, at least the lemon-lime part is good.
