Duck, duck, goose
Duck, duck, goose

Feel the anticipation stretched to breaking point, then cut to crashing certainty by that “Goose!” You are now cast in a recapitulation of the oldest drama: the hunt. For hundreds of millennia, your ancestors fled from claws and spear-tips, or, when they could, played the other role: endeavouring to sink their blades in the hot tiring mass of meat-flesh fleeing them. Their peers that fell short, without offspring, were obliterated from history. Here and now, around that wondering circle of ducks, the contestants’ every instinct was handed down by victorious ancestors. The time has come for another test. In the milliseconds after you assume your role, ironclad automatic processes kick in, primitive brain networks light up, and ancient mechanisms start the release of hormones. Can you synchronise muscles and mind to win, as your ancestors did to outrun starvation and murder? Can you?
