The Circle Line, though historied and distinct in it's orbiting of central London, has largely lost it's purpose. Sharing all it's stations with superior services (though mostly only slightly), if you ever find yourself needing to take specifically the circle line, you'll experience a special misery that only a Londoner can feel. Standing forlorn on the draughty platform, you'll watch many trains pass until your circle line service arrives and pass by pointless stations like Mansion House on your journey to somewhere which would've been faster and more efficient on another line. Nice trains and carriages, though not enough to shift the despair.

The worst of all the London Undergound lines. Loud, depressing and unbearably hot in summer, it's a stain on London's Tube Network. The tinted windows give it a particularly enclosed feel, like you're on a prison bus in the deep south, with graffiti and torn posters to match. It's surprisingly slow going through central London and serves a characterless splodge of Northwest London on one end, and the Devil's own country, Essex, on the other. I used to have to go to Epping due to my friend's ex-boyfriend living there. Not having to make that journey anymore is a definite positive from their separation. One star because it is still a tube line, and so is still valuable. Non-tinted windows and a new stock would improve the situation drastically, but not much can be done to improve Essex.
