I am one of the 5 people that actually read the book instead of getting it's story from Racistgoon or reddit memes. This is one of my favorite pieces of literature ever. It's not perfect oh no some of the stuff in ending part of the book was just "Why is this here? What does this add?" but I believe that everything else makes up for it. One thing that I never hear anyone mentione about the story is how anti-imperialist it is. This book is just so much fun to interpret, dissect and discuss, it's a shame all the conversation around it just boils down to "OOOOOH Judge Holden is scaaaary and literally the devil" which is one of the lamest interpretations you can come up with for this book. My favorite line is from the beginning of the book, "The wrath of God lies sleeping. It was hid a million years before men were and only men have power to wake it. Hell aint half full. Hear me. Ye carry war of a madman's making onto a foreign land. Ye'll wake more than the dogs."
