Another thing along with algorithmic curation that has destroyed the internet. Another social control style device. People need to be interacting with each other on the internet and these not only get in the way of that, but they make you think you are interacting with each other when you aren't. They often don't even post but just bump up numbers in the algorithm and make it impossible to know what's real. There could be a fun use of this in niche areas but again, not worth it.

I've only seen 2 of her movies and they are freak shit, so to me, that's 5 stars. I love freak shit.

Hard to not hate. I think we've got some great culture, food, and people. Some beautiful land too. However the government in charge sucks ASS and seems to only care about the companies that run it. Seriously that government is horrible with the immense power it has. There's also a lot of idiots in it so while I kinda like stupid people because they are funny, when they are in charge it's not good! They also love doing or helping other countries do genocides so it needs to seriously change.

Beauty
Beauty

While I do think beauty can spark happiness within me, it's seductive nature has led me to making poor decisions in the past. In fact I think we value this too much as a society, and perhaps I do too, which is a flaw with myself. So from an intellectual standpoint I'd rate it lower, but what it does to my heart makes me rate it higher.

Art
Art

My followers will not be shocked to hear that I'm a fan of art. It is up there for number one most important things in existence, in my opinion. Sure there's some decent criticisms (it can seduce us into complacency, or worse it can change people's minds to do bad things), but the vast majority of it is wonderful. It can make you think, it can make you laugh, it can turn your insides out, and it gives life meaning. I take an extremely broad view of what is considered art. It's what any particular piece of art does that I begin with the classification and value judgements. But overall, the amount of joy and discovery and internal machinations this thing has done to me has made life worth living.

Super mixed bag here. Probably the most important 3 star review I could give. I wanna lean more positive with us because I am one and feel like we need a chance but we also seem to be extremely destructive... I don't know. On one hand we've created most of the things I like, and on the other hand we are responsible for destroying most of the things I like. There's massive room for improvement. But I also love us. I'll come back to this.

There have been periods of my life where I'd rather my teeth rot and fall out than have these guys lecture me on things I already know while poking and prodding my poor tender mouth with needles and implements. Some of them have been nice though, and ultimately yeah I guess I'd rather see them than have my teeth rot and fall out.

Humour
Humour

Honestly kinda carrying a lot of the weight of human existence on it's back and not getting thanks enough for it. It's embarrassing and antithetical (i.e. not funny) to admit that so nobody talks about it. It can cause pain in others so it's not a perfect score, but alongside art it's one of the greatest things we've made as humans.

Utilitarianism
Utilitarianism

I think it's the best way to do things. While it's hard to figure out what maximizes good and what minimizes harm, it seems like the best path forward if we want to exist morally. It's really difficult and we must have grace for each other if we're going to do it right, but I think this will probably have the best outcome.

Capitalism
Capitalism

We need to get rid of this ASAP. It's a slight improvement on the previous mode where everyone was slaves to a king, but it's really overstayed it's welcome, as evidenced by the fact that it's clearly backsliding into fascism. All of the good things you think it is responsible for can be replicated under a better system, and would likely work better under it! Lets change it completely while we have the chance.

Algorithmic curation
Algorithmic curation

This honestly might be one of the worst things about the internet. It keeps people from exploring new things and locks people into content bubbles and force feeds them what they think they want. At best it's designed to keep you buying things, at worst it could be a successful attempt at social control. With this guiding the reigns of the internet for the past decade +, it's no wonder the internet has gone to shit. There is a hypothetical use for this technology that would be good, but under capitalism, it's a no go. Sorry.

Coffee
Coffee

Coffee can be great, and the deliciousness of black coffee (a taste I had to acquire over time) is something I've come to appreciate. The subtle uplifting effect is also wonderful, although it's relationship with the physiological effects of addiction can make it hard to fully get behind. The headaches you get without it and the grumpiness that ensues can cause a lot of problems. But if a chocolatey bitter, glowing, uplifting ritual in the morning sounds like something you want to be a part of, give it a try. Just don't go to crazy with it.

Japanese cuisine
Japanese cuisine

One of the "Big 3" best cuisine styles in existence (in my opinion). The subtle umami flavors and attention to detail and beauty that this food exemplifies brings me so much joy that I could easily eat it every day for the rest of my life. Sushi is incredible, and short grain rice is my favorite kind easily. Ramen and other soups or noodle based dishes (miso, soba, etc), are all incredible. They know exactly how to treat their meat in Japan, and the various styles of grilled meat are the perfect way to eat them. The attention and care that the chefs and food producers in this country give to their food make savoring Japanese food an amazing experience. And you can't forget about the delicious yet not-overly-sweet desserts they have. Incredible.

Mexican cuisine
Mexican cuisine

Another of the "Big 3" of best cuisine in existence (in my opinion). It really has some of the best flavors, and an incredible range of textures and temperatures that make this one of the best kinds of foods out there. Burritos can't be touched, tacos are incredible, corn is deliciously sweet, beans are incredible, Avocados are amazing, chile peppers rule... Tortillas I could just keep eating for days. It also has a rich history that is tinged with sadness due to the colonial influences, but colonial influences did bring cheese, a variety of meats, and rice into the equation which I like so it's complicated. Lets just say while Colonialism gets the lowest rating I can give, Mexican food is so good that it still gets the highest.

Indian cuisine
Indian cuisine

This might be the best cuisine out there, probably tied for top 3 with Mexican Cuisine and Japanese Cuisine in my opinion (but I'm a weeb). It's extremely flavorful and has all of the best meat involved, there's so many spices that just rock, and I've never had a bad dish from it-- I'll bump it down to 4.5 if I find a bad dish but so far, perfection. Basmati Rice? Naan? Rogan Josh? Tikka Masala? Paneeer? Saag? Get the fuck out of here, it's just perfection.

Love
Love

Definitely one of the best things out there and if it weren't for the fact that it's really highly rated as one of the best things ever, I would give it a perfect score. That said it has it's flaws, particularly in that it poses itself as an answer to pretty much every problem, but in reality it doesn't fix every problem. That said I don't wanna harp on it's negative sides too much. Love is probably the most singularly important force in human existence. It does solve many problems and a dearth of it is what causes many problems. I think if you're here, you're in the right place.

Self
Self

This one is difficult-- I have to give it an honest rating but it seems heavily influenced by so many factors that make it difficult to consider it perfect or even very good, but on the other hand it seems my opinion of it is really important to continuing with existing. I'll revise this later as I find out more but for now I'm thinkin-- it's pretty good but could be better.

Friendship
Friendship

Friendship is one of the things that makes life worth living. If you find yourself in a bad situation, this can be your number one remedy. It can also cause problems for you, that's for sure (see Mikey and Nicky if you want a movie about this), and sometimes they end and it's quite sad, but if there's one thing in life that's worth making sacrifices for it's this! Just make sure to respect yourself as well. Life has many lessons when you engage with this.

Film
Film

Wow, another amazing thing-- I give this one a perfect 5 stars. Movies connect us with the past, the present, and the future. The medium is reality and the paintbrush is people, music, places, things. They tell us stories and display beauty and heartbreak. They do everything and everyone can understand them (maybe with a little help if it's in a different language). Incredible stuff.

Video game
Video game

This is another fantastic thing, absolutely one of my favorites. It's like what if they put all of your favorite things (movies, music, good stories, anime, learning) into one type of thing and then they ended up making it so you control the outcome. The only reason to dock it half of a star is because while there's lots of potential for amazing video games, we get a lot of things I don't care about like football simulators.

Anime
Anime

Anime is great because it’s cool and funny. Sometimes its also sexual style and I like some of that but there’s a good half star’s worth of sexual style that I don’t like so I’m docking it a little, but otherwise it’s one of the greatest things to exist.
