CookierillFounder Danny Meyer said he was inspired by his childhood love of Steak & Shake, an institution that the late great Roger Ebert considered a place of holiness. Steak & Shake has since been desecrated by the Nazis, so I guess I'm okay with a gentrified substitute without that.
