11/4/2026they really knocked it out of the park with this one. Very versatile, can be scary or funny or sexy with equal effectiveness. Rarely goes wrong.
11/4/2026who invented this instead of a genie HONESTLY
11/4/2026One of the most important things on earth and I'm not kidding
11/4/2026I cannot express enough hatred for Blender as someone with a hobby-level interest in 3D modeling. It really exemplifies the biggest problem with software as a whole in the modern day- the urge to constantly update to questionable effect combined with the base presumption that anyone using the program is not just intimately familiar with every nook and cranny, but will be willing to memorize the buttfuck random placements of every feature that are shuffled like playing cards two or three times a year every year. In my experience, 3D modeling software made for entertainment purposes is typically genuinely better put together because their developers put in one iota of effort into user accessibility and clarity of design- the way that people write off these flaws as just the basic hurdle you need to get over to learn to model, makes my blood boil. Modeling isn't hard, you just can't be bothered to use common sense to make a halfway decent program. you'll toil away for the rest of your life on this free program and do nothing to make it easier and just make a worse and buggier experience for every artist tricked into believing that this puddle of filth is the baseline you need to acclimate to to be capable of making anything.
11/4/2026Genuinely one of the most impactful RPGmaker games ever made, both personally and (I think) to the scene as a whole. Few games really recreate this game's feeling, including fanworks that expressly attempt to do so.
11/4/2026The geniuses at Valve have decided to make a MOBA with good gameplay instead of bad gameplay. I do think a lot of ill will towards this game comes from people who probably shouldn't play a large, long-match game with a competitive ecosystem. Alternatively, people who just aren't into PvP shooters as a whole but feel pressured to try to like it because it's Valve's next big project, which is a sentiment I relate to because I only started playing with the City Never Sleeps update that made the map actually look good and not like a collection of stale crackers. Like, I totally get and agree that the barrier to entry is high, a standard match is EXTREMELY overwhelming... but also, every PvP game has a period where you're a noob and you have to learn the ropes. The only real difference is that this is a competitive game where the teams are small enough that you have a very tangible impact on your team's success, as opposed to something like TF2. But I also think the Deadlock devs are aware of this and that Street Brawl is a REALLY good mitigation of these issues and makes the onboarding process a lot more digestible. This'll be even more true if and when the PvE mode drops. Also the game isn't finished yet that's worth mentioning.
11/4/2026Actually like Easily one of the best top down strategy games ever made. Edmund discovered the miracle fusion of "roguelike games are fun when its elements actually synergize logically" and also "strategy games are fun when you're allowed to work around bullshit difficulty with strategy and luck" I genuinely haven't seen a single reason to dislike it that isn't someone getting filtered by something stupid like bad luck or seeing hitler in an antagonistic role or seeing a cat take a dump
11/4/2026This game rules but the devs love melee way too much
11/4/2026It really doesn't make sense that this is like the only tower defense game I've played that I enjoy. Like, on its face it does seem like a grody freemium game and I've seen people put off by that fact but everything you buy in the shop is just things you earn by playing the game, and not in the same sense as a gacha game but like. You unlock things at a pretty typical pace. And it's a TD game so a lot of the easy stuff is basically automatic. It's one of those games I'll regularly orbit back around to when the whim strikes- I feel like every single other TD game I've played loses itself in the weeds and either becomes a more general strategy game that's not interesting enough for the amount of attention required for it or doesn't ramp up in difficulty and is just Anything You Do Wins The Game. I think some genres are just kind of not properly utilized outside of a single entry and I feel like we're all just waiting for a second tower defense game franchise to drop.
11/4/2026On a base level I love Minecraft a lot, but I feel like it's really really lost direction in recent years. And that in itself is an annoying opinion to express because a lot of vocal people who do are chuds who just wanna defend Notch and don't actually play Minecraft. It also feels like a lot of people who love (or make) new updates also don't play Minecraft. But the base game is still there and they've done nothing to obstruct earlier updates or the modding scene so you can't really give them that hard of a time. Minecraft at its core is a 5 and modern updates are like a 1.5 so Minecraft gets a 3. If nothing else, I still get plenty of entertainment from rambling about how I think its modern design choices are flawed.
