cool math but ruined music for centuries by putting it in a cage and hiding the keys
- Together Forever (Rick Astley song)
snav's latest · 2026-11-04★★★★★overshadowed by Never Gonna Give You Up, but Stock, Aitken, & Waterman cooked here. never before has a love song been so unconvincing, a Disquiet Storm, and yet it would still fill a floor even in a Brooklyn k-hole
- Roland TB-303
snav's latest · 2026-11-04★★★★★whichever japanese guys invented this were on the sauce. sounds like a slap in the face by a metal bar or a blanket depending on Q. we're still reckoning with its consequences 40 odd years out.
- Technics SL-1200
snav's latest · 2026-11-04★★★★★the wheels of steel! pleasingly weighted like a sack of bricks. its motor spec lives in a thousand fingers. and yet it can't play 78s.

snav's latest · 2026-11-04★★★★★"Of all the arts, it is perhaps the least connected to reality. I would even say that, if it is connected at all, the connection is purely mechanical, without ideas, through empty sound... without associations... And yet music miraculously penetrates into the very depths of the soul! What is it within us that responds to harmonized noise? What transforms it, for us, into a source of immense joy... that unites us and shakes us to our core? What is its purpose? And, above all, for whom?"
