they literally named that bitch unsinkable. tragic but rage inducing bc men's hubris (sorry but no women got to be in charge) at several points could've prevented it. 1. this one's not really hubris, but sealing the separate boilers from one another. you didn't think spilling over was an issue? would've probably cost more. 2. they got seven ice warnings in advance and sped anyways. though tbf ice was usually chill. but literally ur closest ship said they were stuck. 3. captain literally said modern shipbuilding had gotten too goated for anything to destroy one. 4. MOST WELL KNOWN HUBRIS! not nearly enough lifeboats. obviously having less than capacity was standard at the time but iirc (could be wrong) there were even less than that 5. the closest ship had only one wireless operator and so missed the warning call (or ignored idk).
