Ah, the tongue. Super cool organ, but mine is really hurting right now due to an over consumption of citric acid. All the skin is gone and it really hurts. Of all organs, it is highly vulnerable to corrosive damage, and there's no real good defense against it, yet. Getting to talk is also a blessing and a curse. There are some people that shouldn't be talking, and yet they do. They won't stop, it's really annoying. Also, I talk a lot and it gets me in trouble. Especially when I lie to my girlfriend about how much citric acid I have consumed and she catches me instantly. I guess one of the coolest factors of the tongue is the ability to taste. Not sure what this is about or why it's so complicated, but it's novel for sure. We could have just evolved to experience "Good or Bad" taste just like we experience "Good or Bad" pain, but no we have this elaborate sensor in our mouth that detects poison or when something might be dealing damage that requires the owner to suck on ice cubes for days at a time.
