American coffee cups used to be the signature 6-8oz until we started to develop a huge taste for creamer and sugar, and needed a demand for larger cups. American-produced ceramic coffee cups began to get larger by the Oz by almost every couple of years. Korean and Japanese ceramic imports still kept to the traditional size up until the 1990s. It is now more common to find coffee cups mass produced in sizes much larger than 8oz to accommodate Americans love of cream and sugar. TJmaxx, Walmart, etc, You will be getting a huge mug now. I think Ikea might be the only place If you love thrifting, check out the mugs! If its before 1990 be aware of lead glaze, its in all of it. Mug collecting and history is very fun
