Beech

My favorite tree ever. Just look at that gigantic trunk... Absolutely magnificent. I could spend hours admiring every little detail and thinking about how many years it took to grow this big, how many seasons it has witnessed, and how many little creatures have found shelter among its branches. I wish I could give this gentle giant a big hug.

there's too many of these where i grew up so they lose a star for that But will always be "the lover's tree" to me because the smooth bark of the American Beech leads to a lot of graffiti and the one on the trail to my childhood park & local library was always covered in hearts and initials <3 I knew a girl who had this as her favorite tree though and she was EVIL
