Visited for the first time this october and was immediately impressed. Explored Matsumoto, Yamanouchi, and Nagano city. I had low expectations for the city but was quite pleasantly surprised. Lake Suwa was magnificent, as were the Terunobu Fujimori teahouses in nearby Chino city. Also notable as the home of Jim O'Rourke and Eiko Ishibashi, as well as the setting of Hirokazu Kore-Eda's 'Monster', which I saw an exhibition about at a lakeside community centre. Headed back here to ski in Hakuba with a best friend next month. Much love
